Reba: Which Duet Should Be Released Next?

Now this may be a little early to be thinking about, but I figured why not? Reba: Duets has been selling well over 1 million copies ever since it’s September 2007 duet. The red-headed icon has already released “Because Of You” which became a hit, “The Only Promise That Remains” made it into the US Pop 100 charts, and “Every Other Weekend” is climbing up the charts in the Country Hot 100.

The real question is what song should be released as the next single?

My choice? Well that would be “Everyday People” which has Carole King as Reba’s duet partner. This song is very insiprational and would make a nice upbeat single after “Every Other Weekend”, not that EOW is depressing and is just unbearable sadness. If you were to ask me about thinking about it, then it would be a tie between “When You Love Someone Like That” and “She Can’t Save Him”. So now on to the real question; which would you choose?

I am pulling for the Faith Hill duet, ‘Sleeping With the Telephone’ as the next single. Faith doesn’t have a solo project out right now like so many of the other artists do and could take the time to promote it the way it needs to be with Reba. While that song is not my favorite on the album – that honor goes to ‘Break Each Other’s Hearts Again’ – I feel that SWTT has the best shot at radio and to be the kind of single people still remember 10 years from now. And songs like that are what makes an artist like Reba.

Hey Jake,
I didn’t realize until this minute that you had a blog! Cool! I’ll visit often.

I think it’s hard for me to think of singles for this album since the whole album is slow. So, I’m afraid the singles will kind of run together in the end. My favorite, though, is the duet with LeAnn Rimes. I wish I could vote for her duet with Vince (since you probably know my obsession with him), but I actually don’t like it very much. I think it’s the song though, since I didn’t really like it when it was just Vince singing it on his own album either.

I’d love to see the Yearwood duet, just because I loved that song when Lisa Brokop released it. I agree, though, that another ballad might be pushing it.

Wow I just realized you have a blog, hope you’re gonna post more (but who am I to talk I don’t update often). Umm by now I think they’ve stopped releasing singles but If I were to chose I would have picked “When You Love Someone Like THat” with LeAnn Rimes I though that was the most radio worthy.
